# AI Reports: let the agents write the investment memo

AI Reports in Lighthouse now write from your own data. Open any company, person, or deal and generate an investment memo, pass memo, DD brief, or a template you wrote yourself, built from your notes, meetings, conversations, and files alongside Lighthouse enrichment data and web research.
Jacopo Bonfiglio - Co-founder @ Lighthouse

Every fund already holds what a good investment memo needs. The founder calls, the partner's notes, the email threads, the files. The problem is that it sits in a dozen places, and whoever is writing the memo has to go and find all of it before they can type a word.
AI Reports in Lighthouse now do that work for you. Here's what's new:

- New Reports written from your own data Until today, every report came from a fixed template built on public data. Now it reads everything your fund knows: your notes, meetings, conversations, and files, alongside Lighthouse enrichment data, market intelligence, and web research. The memo reads like your fund wrote it, because your fund's knowledge is what it is written from.
- New Seven report types, or a template you wrote yourself Open any company, person, or deal and pick an investment memo, portfolio update, pass memo, due diligence brief, competitor teardown, SWOT analysis, or relationship summary. Or write your own template: your sections, your instructions, your voice.
- New You decide how it is written You choose the structure, the depth (short, standard, or extensive), the sources it draws on, and the model that writes it. Add your own instructions so every report focuses on what matters to you, not on what a template decided mattered.

## How it works

Open a company, person, or deal in Lighthouse and choose a report. Lighthouse gathers everything it holds on that record: the notes your team logged, the meeting summaries, the email and LinkedIn conversations, the files attached to it, plus its own enrichment data, market intelligence, and fresh web research. It then writes the report to the structure you picked, at the depth you picked, following the instructions you gave it.

## Why this matters

A memo built on public data reads like a memo built on public data. It can tell you what the company says about itself. It cannot tell you what the founder said on the second call, why a partner hesitated, or what changed since the last portfolio update. That is the part of the memo that matters, and until now it was the part someone had to type by hand.
Because the report draws on activity your team already generates, nothing has to be prepared for it. The notes were logged, the meetings happened, the emails were sent. The memo is what all of that looks like when it is finally read together.
